Wingman Waterfowl Boots Review

The 2025 NWTF convention was a very rainy occasion; parking lots were turned into wading pools. After dropping off a couple of the ladies at the door to the convention center I parked on a fairly dry spot but there was no way through that I could stay dry. My boots and socks were soaked.I knew I couldn’t spend all day working in those conditions. Luckily I found a vendor that had socks. I swapped out my soaking socks for fresh ones and put my dry feet in shopping bags back in my wet shoes. At our favorite coffee vendor Dirty Duck Coffee, I saw a sign about a boot company with a booth number. I squished my way over and found Wingman Waterfowl Boots. The guys at the booth were so helpful, friendly and they had the color I liked in my size! I wore the boots for the rest of the show and they were as comfortable as sneakers.

Since then I have worn my ankle boots in every season, hiking miles in and they are always comfortable. With the non-marking duel tread system they are at home on boats and in any terrain. A stark difference from your typical boat shoe. The ankle boots have so many features that make them stand out.

However, this review is about the Bayou Knee Boot. I knew from my experience with the ankle boots, I could trust the knee boots to have the same comfort and quality.

Many women have difficulty finding a knee boot that will accommodate a variety of calf sizes and be tall enough to be an actual knee boot. As though some companies think women don’t walk through the same water as men!

Wingman’s boots are 16.5 inches tall with sizes from men’s 5 to 14, these boots will fit just about everyone!

I measured the calf expansion and it goes from approximately 16 inches to 21 inches with a very high quality expansion panel in the back of the boot.

The aggressive tread on these boots are exactly what I need in slick situations.

Wingman also offers insulated knee boots and they are coming out with an insole that works for warmer days and longer hikes. Both are on my to be purchased list!
